I had the chance to meet with Nichol, who is the owner of Darley Abbey Wines and The Cottonworks. I had the opportunity to discuss Nichol's concerns over the bridge closure.

I am pleased to have convened a meeting with Derby City Council, Darley Abbey Mills and local representatives regarding the closure of Darley Abbey bridge. This was a productive first discussion around various options and timescales. 

After months of meeting with members of TeamDerby, Chris Kirchner was named as the preferred bidder by Quantuma. The American businessman, is a brilliant candidate to take this great club forward, and we were lucky enough to catch up him on our latest episode of Derby North Talks!

During the Easter recess, myself and other MPs visited Poland to assist in the building of facilities for Ukrainian refugees. Whilst i was there I kept a video diary, have a watch and see what I got up to!

For this months Derby North Talks, I was joined by Callum Parke from the Derby Telegraph, Ian Hodgkinson from Hodgkinson Builders, Lida from The Ukrainian Association Derby Branch and Mickleover Councillor Matt Holmes.

This week a meeting was held between myself, Team Derby and Quantuma, this was held to obtain an update regarding a preferred bidder. 

I am aware that the deadline for Derby County negotiations has been extended however I am still pushing for relevant meetings to ensure that progress is made. 

Last week we received the brilliant news that a resolution had been reached over the Middlesbrough claim. 

Our next step is to allow the administrators to handle the offers that have come in to buy the club and to move forward with a preferred bidder.

Today I visited Derby City Boxing Academy with Sport Minister Nigel Huddlestone.  

The Academy is a brilliant asset to our city through their coaching of youngsters.
