After having organised regular business and planning meetings, it is fantastic to see the construction of the footbridge in Darley Abbey in full swing. I am pleased that life for residents and businesses will be improved. I look forward to seeing the opening of the bridge.
There was a real buzz at Derby University this week at their Freshers Fair. It was especially great to see how high up on their agenda they place student wellbeing, one of many reasons why it is such an amazing place to study, come on Derby!
On Thursday 8th September, it took my breath away when I heard the news that Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning monarch in British history, died. Elizabeth’s reign lasted from the Industrial Revolution to the Internet Age—70 years of endurance and stoicism.
