It was a delight to spend the weekend across my constiuency.

The open day at Mackworth Community Allotments was fantastic, it was wonderful to see so many stalls as well as the fruit and veg that is being grown.

I am pleased to see that Derby City Council and the Conservative Cabinet Adminstration have approved funding for a short term, temporary pedestrian footbridge for Darley.

On Wednesday 13th July, it was my pleasure to host the IMechE Parliamentary Event. It was extremely interesting to discuss how the country is emerging from the pandemic, and how air quality and ventilation can potentially mitigate the need for lockdown restrictions in the future.

I'm always so proud of Derby’s rail past present and future it was a pleasure to attend the Rolling Stock Networking event yesterday at Derby Arena.

Derby has been named as one of the 6 finalists to be the home of the brand new national Railways Headquarters! This is fantastic news for Derby and the surrounding area with the number of jobs and industry that this will bring.

This month I was joined by Baby J from Baby People, Matt Holmes and Ryan Duckett, the Chief Executive of Derbyshire County Cricket Club.

I am delighted to see that the deal for Clowes Development to acquire the club has been completed. It has been an incredibly tough journey but I would like to thank all that were involved in getting the deal over the line as well as the fans for their continued patience. 

Today a further meeting was held with Derby City Council and local stakeholders to discuss the bridge closure. The council have a clearer idea on the reality of a temporary structure.

Tonight I hosted a Q+A session with John Forkin from ⁦Marketing Derby, Joe Chapman from ⁦EMA_Airport and Mickleover Councillor Matt Holmes.

I am delighted to hear that Clowes Development has been announced the preferred bidder for Derby County. 

I will be monitoring developments during the exclusivity period very closely as the administrators and the EFL work to secure a deal.
