I am pleased to see that Derby City Council and the Conservative Cabinet Adminstration have approved funding for a short term, temporary pedestrian footbridge for Darley. Subject to a final contractor survey, the bridge could be in place over the existing structre in as little as 5 weeks from the point of order.
Having access for residents and businesses on foot is essential and while this is a quick, short term solution, we will all continue to work collectively to look towards a long term practical solution.
As a strong campaigner and advocate for the residents there has been really positive engagement with council officers to resolve this issue. I want to thank all of the Darley residents for their continued support and understanding on this issue. It has been a real teamwork approach to resolve this.
I will continue to work hard for residents and businesses for a long term solution. As always the fantastic businesses are still open for you to enjoy.
