This week, I was one of 30,000 people worldwide taking part in Covid-19 vaccine trials when I partook in the trial for the Janssen Vaccine at the NIHR Patient Recruitment Centre: Leicester.
This vaccine is the fifth of its kind to undergo Phase 3 trials, following the approved Oxford/AstraZeneca, Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna vaccines, as well as the Novavax vaccine that is awaiting approval from the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
I was very glad to put myself forward for the trials and with the data gathered from all participants, the Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agency (MHRA) will be able to determine the efficacy of the vaccine. I would like to thank all the kind staff at Leicester
General Hospital who kept me informed through every step of the process and were a great help.
If you may be able to participate in a vaccination trial then please please do - medical science needs all of us right now
