Improve education

Since 2010, £18.7 million has been invested by the Conservative led Government to provide more school places in our city. There has also been recent news that another school in Derby North will benefit from the Government's Priority Schools Building Programme. Canvendish Close Infant School in Chaddesden will benefit from the second phase of the government programme. Lee's Brook School, also in Chaddesden, has already benefited from phase one of the programme.

As a mum of two I know how important a good education is to prepare our children for the future. I have met with several headteachers from schools across Derby, and will continue to do so to get their opinions on what more can be done to improve the education our children receive.
